Intech Centre is now offering the BCS Essential Digital Skills for Work course (IT for Beginners). These IT skills are essential in many job roles as more digital technology is used to carry out tasks in every day life.
Our BCS Essential Digital Skills for Work Entry Level 3 course is designed for adults with little prior experience of using digital devices or the internet.
This course cover all five skills areas set out in the national standards. These are:
- Using devices and handling information.
- Creating and editing.
- Communicating.
- Transactions.
- Being safe and responsible online.

Course Summary
The BCS Essential Digital Skills for Work Entry 3 (IT for Beginners) course is composed of five skill areas:
- Using Devices and Handling Information Learners will be able to navigate devices and the internet to find and store information.
- Creating and Editing Learners will be able to create a variety of document types and perform straightforward editing techniques.
- Communicating Learners will be able to communicate and manage contacts using a suitable online method such as email or video calling.
- Transacting Learners will be able to fill in online forms to make safe, secure purchases.
- Being Safe and Responsible Online Learners will know how to keep devices and information secure. Learners will also be able to identify and demonstrate responsible behaviour and report any concerns.
Essential Digital Skills for Work Course Information
Successfully completing the qualification will equip the learner with the skills and knowledge required to be able to use digital technology to complete everyday tasks such as completing online transactions and communicating using a range of methods.
BCS Entry Level Essential Digital Skills for Work (Entry 3)
BCS Essential Digital Skills for Work (IT for Beginners) course will last between 2 to 3 weeks.
In order to qualify for the government funding, you must be 19 years or older, living within a London Borough postcode and have not completed a similar level qualification.
Full eligibility check will be carried out during Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) session.
