Mayor of London - Functional Skills English and Maths

Traineeships are dedicated to helping 19 – 24 year olds break into the world of work. By the end of the programme you shall gain the appropriate qualifications and relevant work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship in your chosen field of work. You shall take courses, so as to gain the knowledge foundation that you require. Which courses you shall take will depend on your current qualifications. Once you have completed the courses that you require will then be placed on a work placement in your chosen sectors.

City and Guilds - Functional Skills Maths Past Papers

Course Summary

Prior to being placed on a work scheme, you will need to acquire certain qualifications and skills so as to place you on an even playing field with your other competitors. The courses we provide will enable you to achieve this by helping you improve your knowledge and equipping you with the necessary skills for the world of work.

Functional Skills Courses
It has become extremely important for anyone seeking employment that they have an A – C in Maths and English GCSE or an equivalent.

Our Functional Skills Maths and English courses are GCSE equivalents that will ensure that you have the foundation knowledge required for any work force or even further study if you so wish it.

ICDL Courses
In a world where technology is ever-growing and is used in every industry, it has never been more important to have IT skills. The ICDL courses that we provide vary from offering you the basic knowledge of how to use a computer to more in depth knowledge of how to use the Microsoft packages.

Employability Course
This programme will provide you with the basic skills that you need to look for work. It will help you with CVs, Cover Letters, Job searching skills and Interview Skills.

Traineeships Course Information

In addition to updating or creating a CV, this course will provide you with a solid foundation of skills that you can apply on a daily basis to look for work.

Prior to starting the traineeship, you shall have a session with one of our careers advisers. This will enable us to establish the sector of work that you would like to gain experience in and how this could lead you to an apprenticeship. We are making placements available in sales, marketing and administration. However, if you should require another sector, we would try and get that for you as well.

 

The length of this programme will vary from three to six months in accordance with your particular needs.

In order to qualify for the government funding, you must be 19 years or older, living within a London Borough postcode and have not completed a similar level qualification.

Full eligibility check will be carried out during Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) session.
