ECDL, the European Computer Driving Licence, is an internationally recognised qualification that enables individuals to demonstrate their computer skills and capabilities. It is specifically designed for those wishing to gain a benchmark qualification in IT to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects.
How does it work?
The basic ECDL qualification is broken down into two levels: ECDL Essentials and ECDL Extra. These can be taken individually to obtain single certificates, or together to achieve the overall ECDL qualification.
ECDL Essentials is a Level 1 ITQ Award and consists of 3 modules. ECDL Extra is a Level 2 ITQ Certificate and consists of 4 modules.

Cost
ECDL is a full Level 2 qualification and in order to take the test you must be registered with BCS. Registration fee is currently £35 and each exam will cost you £25.
