Improve your practical maths skills for work, further education and everyday life with Intech Centre in Islington, London. We offer City & Guilds Functional Skills Mathematics at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2 through flexible blended learning.
Before enrolment, you will complete initial and diagnostic assessments. These help us identify your current working level, any gaps in your knowledge and the most appropriate learning plan.
Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is a Level 2 qualification, the same qualification level as GCSE grades 4 to 9 or A* to C. It is used by many employers, colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers, but individual entry requirements vary. You should always confirm that Functional Skills Maths is accepted for your intended course, job or apprenticeship.
Our current funded Functional Skills Maths provision is available as wraparound support through the Greater London Authority’s London Talent Pathways programme.

The course combines individual online learning with tutor guidance, Skills Checks, mini-tests, assignments and progress reviews. Your learning plan will focus on the areas identified through your initial and diagnostic assessments.
Develop confidence in working with positive and negative numbers, calculations, formulas, ratios and proportions. These skills are useful for managing money, understanding information and solving problems at work.
Learn how to calculate with fractions, decimals and percentages and convert between them. You will apply these skills to practical situations such as discounts, bills, budgets and financial comparisons.
Build your ability to work with length, weight, capacity, time, area, volume, perimeter, angles and two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes.
Learn how to interpret tables, charts, graphs and diagrams, calculate averages and use data to make informed decisions.
Apply your knowledge to realistic problems drawn from work, education and everyday life. You will practise deciding which calculations to use, checking your answers and explaining your reasoning.

After completing your learning and achieving the required standard in your mock assessment, you will be considered for the appropriate City & Guilds Functional Skills Maths exam.
If you pass the exam, you will receive the relevant City & Guilds Functional Skills Mathematics qualification.
Exam readiness is based on your assessment results, progress and completed learning rather than simply reaching the end of a fixed period.
Please note that it may take up to 20 working days for City & Guilds to mark exam and inform us of the results. If you have successfully passed all exams, it will then take up to 2 weeks for us to receive the physical certificate.

Intech Centre offers Functional Skills Maths at Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2. Your starting level will be identified through assessment.
Topics include whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, measures, shape, space, data handling and practical problem-solving.
Where Functional Skills Maths is identified, approved and included in your learning plan, the required learning and assessment can be funded. Your adviser will confirm this after checking your eligibility.
You can purchase the private online Maths course or book a centre-based or online Functional Skills Maths exam without joining the vocational programme.
