IT Level 1 (ICDL Essentials) is an internationally recognised qualification. In a world where technology is ever-growing and is used in every industry, it has never been more important to have IT skills and the International Computer Driving Licence Essentials (ICDL) is a great introduction to IT. You shall gain IT skills which are highly valuable in the work place. These skills will enable you to use a computer with ease and form a good foundation if you should wish to enhance your skills further with any additional IT courses.
At the end of this programme you shall be awarded with a BCS ICDL Essentials Level 1 Award in IT User Skills.
Progression course after successfully completing this qualification will be BCS ICDL Extra Level 2 Certificate.
The length of IT Level 1 (ICDL Essentials) course will vary slightly, depending on how quickly you absorb the material, however, in general it should last for an average of 3- 4 weeks.
Upon your enrolment, you shall discuss in detail with the tutor how long the programme should last. They will then set you a deadline and offer you assistance and support to ensure that you reach it.
In order to qualify for the government funding, you must be 19 years or older, living within a London Borough postcode and have not completed a similar level qualification.
