Office Administrator - Full Time

Location: Intech Centre, 362 Essex Road, Islington, N1 3PD
Salary: £25,000 – £27,500
Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 9:30am–6:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm (one off each month)

Since 1999, Intech Centre has been a trusted provider of adult education, careers advice, and exam services in Islington. Each year, we support thousands of learners to gain qualifications, improve their employability, and progress into meaningful careers.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and highly organised Office Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role offers a clear pathway for professional development and the potential to progress into a Careers Adviser or Tutor position, depending on your qualifications, interests, and future opportunities within the organisation.


About the Role

You will be an essential part of our operations team, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of our services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing exam bookings, providing administrative support to our Careers Advisers and Tutors, responding to learner and partner queries, and delivering excellent customer service.

You’ll also support the preparation and delivery of classes and workshops—handling registers, preparing resources, ensuring rooms are ready, and assisting with scheduling and learner communications.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in adult education and employability support, with structured opportunities to grow your career within the sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate exam bookings and oversee exam day logistics

  • Support Careers Advisers with CV creation, interview preparation, and job search resources

  • Respond professionally to emails and phone enquiries from learners and partners

  • Welcome and assist learners and visitors at reception

  • Maintain accurate learner records and update internal databases

  • Provide day-to-day admin support to Tutors, Advisers, and Management

  • Assist with the delivery of workshops and training sessions as needed

  • Contribute your skills in areas like social media, marketing, design, or IT (if applicable)


Person Specification

Essential

  • University degree (required)

  • If educated in the UK: A-Levels and GCSEs in Maths & English at grade C or above

  • Confident IT user – especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Friendly, professional, and proactive attitude

  • Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Must live within 1 hour of Intech Centre (Islington)

Desirable

  • Previous experience in administration, education, employability, or customer service

  • Touch typing skills

  • Experience using CRM systems or booking platforms

  • Any additional skills that could add value to Intech Centre (e.g. social media, design, multilingual abilities)

Digital Marketing Intern – Work Experience

Location: Islington, London

Pay: Unpaid – Voluntary Internship (work-experience) position however we will cover reasonable food and travel expenses. 

Intech Centre is offering a voluntary work experience opportunity for someone passionate about digital marketing and eager to contribute to real projects that actively drive business growth. You will work closely with a member of staff to support and deliver our digital marketing strategy, with a strong focus on increasing visibility, enquiries, and engagement.

This placement is ideal for students, recent graduates, or career changers who want hands-on experience across social media, SEO, content, and digital campaigns, while building a strong, practical UK based portfolio. A professional reference will be provided upon successful completion of the 4-month placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule regular social media content to increase engagement and brand visibility

  • Support off-site SEO activities, including backlink outreach, citations, directory listings, and keyword research

  • Assist with activities that improve search engine rankings and online presence

  • Contribute to website content, blogs, and SEO-driven articles

  • Assist with the setup and optimisation of paid campaigns (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Ads)

  • Support website performance and basic SEO improvements

  • Work in line with our internal marketing plan, with ongoing guidance and feedback from staff

  • Track and record activities and outcomes for use in your portfolio or case studies

Administrator Internship / Voluntary Position

Intech Centre is offering a voluntary internship for motivated individuals keen to gain hands-on experience while working alongside qualified advisers, tutors, and various team members on multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Career Services Support: Assist careers advisers and tutors with day-to-day tasks, including helping learners write CVs and offering general guidance.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, track attendance, organise calendars, respond to emails, and assist in exam coordination.
  • Digital Marketing & Social Media: Contribute to the development and management of social media channels, help create digital marketing campaigns, and monitor online engagement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with different staff members on diverse projects to gain insight into various tasks and roles across the organisation.
  • Additional Projects: Take part in other initiatives and activities that arise within the centre, using your strengths and creativity to contribute to the team.
