Bringing industry insight into our digital marketing training
At brightonSEO 2026, Intech Centre explored the ideas and technologies shaping digital marketing and what they mean for our learners. On Friday 9 October, Shubham Maharu, our Project Coordinator and Digital Marketing Specialist, attended the conference at the Brighton Centre to explore industry developments, meet professionals and employers, and bring fresh perspectives back to our learners.
The visit supports our ongoing work to review and improve our Digital Marketing & AI Skills Bootcamp and the Digital Marketing, Social Media and AI Level 2 course we deliver through London Talent Pathways. By staying involved in the sector, we can make stronger connections between what learners practise during training and what businesses need from their marketing teams.
Digital marketing changes quickly. Search habits evolve, platforms introduce new features, and AI tools influence how teams research, create and assess their work. Learners need a sound understanding of marketing principles, alongside opportunities to see how those principles apply in practice.
For a training provider, that means continuing to learn too. Professional events give our team access to current discussions, practical examples and the experiences of people working across agencies, technology businesses and in-house marketing teams. Those perspectives help us question existing approaches, refresh teaching examples and understand the skills employers value.
brightonSEO October 2026, held on 8 and 9 October, brought together the search marketing community for sessions covering SEO, AI search, content, digital PR and measurement. Shubham attended the Friday programme, combining specialist sessions with conversations across the exhibition.
Search strategy was an important theme of the visit. As people discover information through search engines and AI tools, marketers need to understand the questions their audiences ask and the information that helps them make decisions.
For our learners, this reinforces the value of audience research, search intent and useful website content. A practical SEO task should help learners explain who a page is for, what it needs to communicate and how its performance could be evaluated.
The content strategy sessions considered how search behaviour, landing-page design and brand positioning work together. These ideas are relevant to anyone preparing a social media campaign, writing website copy or presenting a marketing proposal.
They provide useful material for discussing why a campaign needs a defined audience, a clear message and a meaningful next step. Learners can then explain the thinking behind their creative choices as well as show the finished work.
AI prompting and agency operations were also part of Shubham’s learning experience. The discussions explored how AI can support marketing tasks and workflows, while highlighting the importance of context, evaluation and professional judgement.
In training, that means helping learners think critically about AI outputs: checking accuracy, considering whether the content suits the audience, protecting confidential information and making appropriate revisions. Understanding the task remains essential to using any tool effectively.
The exhibition offered time to meet industry professionals, explore marketing services and discuss how businesses work. Shubham also reconnected with the Link Publishers team, continuing professional relationships and exchanging ideas with people working in the sector.
These conversations matter because they bring a business perspective into our training. They help us keep asking practical questions: what makes a useful portfolio, how do teams explain campaign results, and which technical and communication skills help someone contribute at work?
For Intech Centre, maintaining these connections is part of being an active training provider. It creates opportunities for further dialogue about employer needs, practical learning and routes into the industry.
Learning continued beyond the presentations. Exhibition displays, distinctive mascots and hands-on activities showed how organisations encourage participation and make their brands memorable. Shubham joined a building-brick activity, experiencing another way to start conversations and involve an audience.
These examples offer useful starting points for teaching campaign ideas, brand identity and customer engagement. They also show how an event experience can connect with digital content, social media and a wider marketing campaign.
We continuously review our digital marketing programmes against industry developments and employer requirements, while keeping teaching aligned with the qualifications learners work towards. The value of an event like brightonSEO is in how its ideas inform that ongoing work.
This gives our team fresh material to consider when reviewing resources and activities across both the Skills Bootcamp and London Talent Pathways. It also reinforces a habit we encourage in learners: keep learning, test ideas thoughtfully and stay interested in how the sector develops.
Intech Centre offers two distinct funded routes for eligible Londoners aged 19 and over. Both combine practical learning with careers and employability support for enrolled learners.
Our Digital Marketing & AI Skills Bootcamp is an eight-week, part-time programme combining online evening classes with workshops at our Islington centre. Learners work towards the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Digital Marketing Business Principles.
The course covers SEO, paid advertising, social media, email marketing, analytics, content design and campaign planning, with opportunities to apply AI tools in practical project work. Learners build portfolio evidence and receive support with their next steps. Successful completers are offered a guaranteed employer interview, with employment support available for up to six months after the programme.
The Bootcamp is funded by the Mayor of London and the Department for Education for eligible learners. Visit the course page to check current start dates, entry requirements and registration details.
Our Digital Marketing, Social Media and AI Level 2 course is a ten-week programme delivered through London Talent Pathways (LTP). Learners work towards the Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Digital and Creative Industries, assessed through a portfolio of practical work.
Learning includes audience research, campaign planning, social media, SEO, digital content and responsible AI use. Online evening teaching, centre-based workshops and independent study help learners develop and present their work. The programme supports people preparing for entry-level digital and creative roles, with employment support continuing for up to six months.
Funded by the Mayor of London, the course is free for learners who meet the eligibility requirements. Eligible LTP learners with an assessed need may also receive wraparound Functional Skills English support and Functional Skills Maths support alongside their vocational training.
We welcome conversations with agencies, local businesses and marketing teams that want to contribute to practical training or meet emerging talent. Employers can help through project briefs, workshops, portfolio feedback and recruitment opportunities.
If your organisation would like to get involved, explore our employer partnerships or email partnership@intechcentre.com. Your perspective can help learners understand the work behind a campaign and the standards expected in a professional setting.
Our visit to brightonSEO reflects a continuing commitment: investing in our own knowledge so that we can support learners with relevant, practical training.
