We are delighted to share some important news from Intech Centre.
After more than 27 years of supporting adults in London with training, qualifications, careers advice and employment support, Intech Centre has successfully secured a contract to deliver vocational training through the London Talent Pathways programme.
As part of this new programme, we are now recruiting Londoners for our free Digital Marketing, Social Media and AI Level 2 course – a practical 10-week programme designed for people who genuinely want to build a career, find work or develop self-employment opportunities in digital marketing and related fields.
The course is free for eligible Londoners and combines a recognised Level 2 vocational qualification with practical digital marketing training, social media, content creation, SEO, AI tools, portfolio development and dedicated employment support.
Our first cohort starts on 24 August 2026, and this is not a one-off intake. We are planning new cohorts each month, so we are accepting registrations on an ongoing basis.

What is London Talent Pathways?
London Talent Pathways is a Greater London Authority programme designed to help Londoners gain industry-relevant vocational skills and progress into jobs, better work or further development in sectors that are important to London’s economy.
The programme is funded through the Adult Skills Fund and has a strong focus on connecting education, vocational training and employment, rather than funding training simply for participation.
Digital and Creative Industries and Technologies are among the priority sectors identified through London Talent Pathways. The programme particularly aims to support Londoners who are out of work, in low-paid employment, have lower-level qualifications or face other barriers to accessing career opportunities.
The official London Talent Pathways guidance makes the employment objective very clear: providers are expected to help Londoners gain relevant vocational skills and use those skills to enter work, progress within work or develop sustainable career pathways.
You can also read more about the programme directly on the Greater London Authority’s London Talent Pathways page.
For us at Intech Centre, that approach makes sense. A qualification is important, but learners also need practical skills, evidence of what they can do and support to turn their learning into an employment opportunity.
That is how we have structured our programme.
A Free Digital Marketing Course in London with a Clear Employment Focus
Our free Digital Marketing, Social Media and AI Level 2 course is not intended as a hobby course.
It is for Londoners who are genuinely interested in building a career or self-employment opportunities in areas such as:
- digital marketing;
- social media;
- content creation;
- SEO;
- digital advertising;
- marketing communications;
- website content;
- email marketing;
- digital campaigns;
- branding; or
- related digital and creative work.
You do not need previous professional digital marketing experience.
You may be completely new to the sector, changing career, returning to work or currently working in a different occupation. What matters is that you have a genuine interest in the field and are prepared to put your new skills into practice.
If you are unemployed, you must be interested in progressing towards relevant employment.
If you are already working but in a low-paid or unrelated role, the programme can support you towards appropriate progression where you meet the funding requirements.
If you are self-employed or planning a freelance career, you must be actively interested in finding clients or developing new opportunities in digital marketing, social media, content or a related field.
London Talent Pathways specifically recognises employment and self-employment progression as routes into work.
What Will You Learn on the Free Digital Marketing, Social Media and AI Course?
We want learners to finish the programme understanding much more than how to post something on Instagram or ask an AI tool to write content.
Digital marketing involves understanding a business, its customers, its objectives, its competitors and the different digital channels available to reach the right audience.
The programme therefore combines theory with practical activities that reflect the type of work carried out in junior digital marketing and creative roles.
Digital Marketing Fundamentals
You will learn how businesses use digital marketing to reach customers, communicate their message and generate results.
This includes understanding the relationship between websites, search engines, social media, email, advertising, content and other digital channels.
You will also explore how marketing activity should connect to a clear business or campaign objective rather than simply producing content without a purpose.
Social Media Marketing and Content Creation
Social media has become an important marketing channel for businesses of every size.
During this social media course in London, you will explore how organisations can use different platforms to reach audiences, communicate with customers and build awareness.
You will develop ideas for digital and social media content and consider:
- target audiences;
- tone of voice;
- content formats;
- platform selection;
- campaign objectives;
- calls to action;
- engagement; and
- branding.
The emphasis is on understanding why you are creating something, who it is for and what you want the audience to do next.
Search Engine Optimisation – SEO
Knowing how people search for information online is a valuable digital marketing skill.
You will be introduced to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and learn about areas including:
- keywords;
- search intent;
- page titles;
- headings;
- website content;
- image alt text;
- internal links; and
- basic website optimisation.
You will explore how organisations can make their online content more useful to both people and search engines.
You will also be introduced to relevant tools and concepts used within digital marketing, including Google search and analytics tools.
Customer Research and Buyer Personas
Successful digital marketing begins with understanding the customer.
You will learn how to research an audience and develop customer or buyer personas.
That means thinking about questions such as:
Who are we trying to reach?
What problem does this person have?
What information are they searching for?
Which platforms do they use?
Why might they choose one business over another?
Understanding these questions helps you make much stronger decisions about content, advertising and campaign strategy.
Market and Competitor Research
Marketing decisions should be supported by evidence.
You will therefore explore practical approaches to:
- market research;
- competitor research;
- customer research;
- audience insight;
- identifying opportunities; and
- interpreting basic marketing information.
These skills can be useful whether you eventually work for an employer, an agency, a small business or yourself.
Canva, Visual Content and Short-Form Video
Digital marketers are increasingly expected to understand how visual and video content is produced.
The programme introduces practical content creation using tools such as Canva and CapCut.
You will plan, produce, review and improve digital content rather than simply watching demonstrations.
The work you create can also contribute towards your assessed portfolio and give you useful examples to discuss when applying for digital marketing or social media jobs.
Learning How to Use AI Properly for Digital Marketing
Artificial intelligence is changing the way many marketing tasks are carried out.
That is why AI is integrated into our free Digital Marketing , Social Media and AI Level 2 course rather than being treated as a separate subject.
You will explore how AI tools can support areas such as:
- initial research;
- generating ideas;
- understanding customer questions;
- content planning;
- drafting marketing copy;
- comparing alternative approaches;
- improving productivity; and
- supporting creative planning.
Just as importantly, you will learn that using AI effectively involves much more than copying whatever it produces.
We will look at responsible AI use, accuracy checking, copyright, confidentiality, online safety and the importance of human judgement.
Employers need people who can use these tools intelligently – not people who depend on them without understanding the work.
Learn by Doing and Build a Digital Marketing Portfolio
One of the biggest problems facing people trying to enter digital marketing is simple:
How do you prove what you can do if nobody has given you your first opportunity yet?
This is why practical work and portfolio development are central to the programme.
Throughout the 10 weeks you will complete activities connected to areas such as audience research, digital campaigns, SEO, social media, content creation, market research and campaign presentation.
You will receive tutor feedback and improve your work as you progress.
This has two purposes.
First, it provides the evidence required for your qualification.
Second, it gives you practical examples of your work that can help you explain your skills to potential employers or clients.
Gain a Recognised Level 2 Qualification
Learners work towards the Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Digital and Creative Industries.
The vocational qualification is assessed through a portfolio of practical evidence rather than one final written examination.
You will complete work throughout the programme, respond to tutor feedback and submit evidence against the qualification requirements.
To successfully complete the programme, you must be prepared to participate fully, complete the required work and maintain at least 90% attendance.
How the 10-Week Programme Works
This is a part-time programme, but it requires a genuine commitment.
Learners complete at least 12 hours of learning each week, including:
- approximately three hours of live online tutor-led learning;
- approximately three hours of practical, centre-based training; and
- at least six hours of structured independent learning, practice and portfolio work.
Your independent learning is important. You will use it to complete LMS activities, research, practise with digital tools, build your portfolio and improve work after feedback.
Because we are opening new cohorts regularly, exact class days can vary between groups. You will receive your agreed timetable before starting.
Functional Skills Maths and English Support Alongside Your Course
Digital marketing is creative, but strong English and Maths skills are also valuable.
Writing clear content, communicating professionally, understanding data, working with percentages, interpreting campaign results and presenting information are all part of working effectively in the sector.
For this reason, Functional Skills Maths and English can be provided as wraparound support through London Talent Pathways where a learner has an identified need.
This is important: the funded Maths and English provision is not currently a separate free course that anyone can join independently. It supports learners taking an eligible vocational programme such as Digital Marketing, Social Media and AI Level 2.
During the enrolment process we will review your existing qualifications and, where required, ask you to complete English and Maths initial and diagnostic assessments.
If an assessment identifies that you need additional support, the appropriate Functional Skills qualification may become part of your individual learning plan.
You can read more about:
Funded Functional Skills Maths through London Talent Pathways
and
Funded Functional Skills English through London Talent Pathways
The London Talent Pathways Delivery Handbook specifically allows eligible wraparound learning to be delivered alongside an industry-relevant vocational qualification to help participants complete their learning and progress towards employment.
Employment Support Is Part of the Programme
We do not want the relationship with our learners to finish when the course does.
Each learner will be assigned an Employment Specialist who will work with them during the programme and continue supporting them for up to six months after completion.
Support can include:
- identifying appropriate digital marketing jobs;
- understanding job descriptions;
- CV development;
- job search;
- applications;
- LinkedIn and professional profile development;
- portfolio presentation;
- interview preparation;
- employer engagement; and
- identifying suitable opportunities.
For self-employed learners, the focus can include identifying appropriate clients and opportunities where you can use your new digital marketing, social media and AI skills.
We cannot guarantee anyone a job, and we would never make that claim.
What we can do is help you leave the programme better prepared: with a relevant qualification, practical skills, portfolio evidence, clearer career direction and continued employment support.
That employment focus is central to London Talent Pathways. The GLA measures the programme not simply by participation but by achievement, progression and movement into or within work.
What Jobs Can a Digital Marketing Level 2 Course Lead Towards?
The programme is designed to prepare learners for entry-level opportunities rather than claim that completing one course immediately makes someone a senior marketer.
Depending on your existing experience, strengths and further development, roles you could begin targeting include:
Digital Marketing Assistant • Marketing Assistant • Social Media Assistant • Social Media Executive • Content Assistant • Digital Content Assistant • Campaign Assistant • Marketing Communications Assistant • SEO Assistant • Website Content Assistant • Email Marketing Assistant • Junior Marketing Executive • Campaign Coordinator • Marketing Coordinator
These are also the types of roles learners will explore with tutors and their Employment Specialist.

London Talent Pathways is intended to support eligible adult Londoners to gain vocational skills and progress towards employment.
You may be suitable for the programme if you:
